What years are the best for the 7.3's?
Since the toyota might still be getting sold eventually I'm keeping a lookout for a diesel truck. Also, after towing with a buddy's truck. I got the i've gotta have one attitude.
Not sure if I want 2 or 4 wd. It will be used mostly for towing the jeep and driving when i can't drive the jeep. Each has its own pros and cons. Either would be diesels. I'm not sure that a 2wd would be able to tow my dad's boat in and out of the water a couple times a year. It weighs about 10k lbs. Tows about a mile tops a year.
as I see it.
Pros of 2wd
less moving parts
more mpg
a little cheaper
cons of 2wd.
wouldn't do as well in the snow (since the jeep sucks in the snow now with the lockers)
possible less traction while towing
pros of 4wd
better in the snow
better for towing on a wet boat ramp
able to tow to some of the campgrounds that we go to.

less mpg
more moving parts
