HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!

And, as a Soldier, let me say this....

To me, today is not about our military men and women, but rather it is about the birth of our great nation. A celebration of how Americans came together, military AND civilian to defeat our enemy and win our independence. To me, it is a celebration of our freedoms...freedoms that were earned with blood, but the blood of ALL Americans, military and civilian.

As much as I appreciate all the thanks and support, as a career military person, I know we have our days like Veterans Day. BUT today, is for all America....

I love our country, and after having been a few places around the world, there is no place like the good ole' United States...

Of course this is a day for the celebration of the birth of our great nation. It truly is a day when we celebrate freedom.

Regardless of Veterans Day, Memorial Day, or any other holiday, you who wear the uniforms of our armed forces and your families should be remembered on the Fourth of July, because the freedom that we celebrate comes at a great price, and no one pays that price to anywhere near the extent that you good people do.

You put yourselves in harm's way to protect our freedom. You spend much time thousands of miles away from your families, which means that they, too, pay a great price.

That video that was posted a while back where the Navy dad pays a surprise visit to his little boy's classroom after he had been away for seven months just broke my heart. It really drove it home to me how that the cost of freedom is born by the spouses and the children of military personnel just as much as it is, and maybe even more than it is, by the soldiers, sailors, and airmen.

May God bless each and every American Military family. Thanks to all of you for the sacrifices you make for the rest of us.

I hope our political leaders realize the implications of their decisions when they deploy our armed forces. I hope they will prayerfully seek God's wisdom as they make their decisions regarding American involvement in political situations around the world. They need to be very sure that for every deployment the cause justifies the sacrifices.

Jeep Buds, please watch this video. Watch it again, if you have already seen it. I think we should all watch it every day. This is the cost of our freedom. This is the price being paid by our military men and women and by their families.
