OK folks, looks like we will have the 2nd annual IAJ picnic at my farm this year. Everyone had a great time last year. We hope to have some light to moderate wheeling this year at the Green Coal Company property.

I will cook my famous chickens again this year. We will have a food sign-up as it gets closer.

Now, as for dates. Please vote in the poll as to what date will work best for you. We will tally the votes in April and post the results.

Here is a link to last year's picnic with a few pics:

Well, I will say that the July 7-8 weekend WILL NOT work for us.
We have a wedding to attend in Indianapolis.
So that weekend is out. :) Sorry kids!

July 4th is a Wed. I'm guessing that the 7-8
would be the July 4th weekend they are referring to.
If I'm wrong, great, but I don't think I am.

peepspurplejeep

I don't even know what Bonnaroo is. lol
Nope, that weekend is Tom and my 1st anniversary weekend.
Hopefully we will be going somewhere together all weekend. :)

Tom and Denise don't feel bad what ever weekend you guys choose is fine. One will NEVER be able to pick a weekend that works for everyone, thats just life. So what ever date you choose, poll or not we will do our best to be there as I'm sure most other will do the same. I know we had a blast last time and I would have had even more fun had I not had a migraine most all Saturday of the picnic. We are really looking forward to being on your beautiful farm again!!!! And Maggie looks forward to the "outhouse"!!!

belltom

Thanks Laurie. It was a lot of fun last year! I still can't get over Kenny's camping setup. He had all the bases covered, even a generator. And you can't beat an outhouse with a view, from the inside out of course ;)

I will see how the poll goes by tomorrow morning then delete the poll and post results.

OK folks, voting is done. The 2nd annual IAJ Picnic will be at my farm again this year June 8 - 10. I have re-opened this thread to get an early idea on who will be coming and what food everyone wants. Last year I smoked chickens and everyone brought side dishes to go with them. It was a big hit (though this year I will want at least 3 others to join in on the chicken cooking detail - it was tough doing that by myself). Thoughts?

I probably won't drag the jeep up there.

if I'm really lucky I might be able to talk the wife into going.

belltom

She should join us. Last year it was mostly a sit around the camp fire and enjoy great food and getting to know everyone better situation. It was nice. She will enjoy it.

We may have a little wheeling to do, but there will be plenty of passenger seats available. Nothing too chalenging.

Andy, I and the kids will do our best to be there. But we will most likely not bring the Jeeps.

OK fellow IAJ guys and gals, I want to clarify a few things with this year's picnic...

Last years event went very smooth. Denise and I DID NOT incur any expenses with the picnic. There were several who did not show, and a few others that did. It paid for itself, so that is all that matters, and what matters most is that everyone had a great time!!!!

It is ONLY APRIL!!!! In May we will post possible activities and meal options for everyone to vote on, possibly in a poll. Denise and I are open to any and all suggestions to make this event a success a 2nd year in a row.

We will most likely just post a cost per person and work from there. Seems to me it was around $7 - $10 per person...But I will update you as it gets closer.

I wil also let you know if we will have a least some opportunity to do a little wheeling in!!!!

Fred

Lets not get this lost guys. Has a plan been made on how this is working for food, cooking, and such? Tom PM me with anything I can do to help you prep for this. I may be able to get a second tractor for cutting with the bush hog or worst I have 2 riding mowers I can cart up to cut grass and the such.

belltom
04-23-2007, 11:37 AM
Good idea Fred. It is time to keep this one active. I need to get the bushhog fixed, may spend some time on it this weekend. Mowing is the biggest concern for now. I will create a sign-up for food items, etc. in a couple of days. Thanks!

This is the same weekend as the GreyRock ride.
Take your pick here everyone! :D

There are 2 great things going on this June weekend!

Tom and I will be to the farm early on Fri morning.
Everyone is welcome to come whenever they see fit.
There is a concert going on in Owensboro Fri night that would be a lot of fun
to attend. It is the "Friday After 5" season so I'm pretty excited about that!!
We attended 3 times last summer and had a ball!! There are food booths
and then about 4 different music things happening. :) Kids are welcome at all
the music events. (usually dancing at the one outside as well!!)

I would like to get a sign up list going here.
I'll start the list:
Tom and Denise
