I have been finding some very disturbing things about the Jeep Corporate Support for it's customers and marketing of it's new-age Jeep JK's, aka. Off Road Ready. Oners are reporting engine oil useage of as much as one quart in 500 miles.

Another issue is the overheating of the Automatic transmission to the point of boiling out of the tranny oil causing fires that destroy the vehicle. This latest issue has caused the Government to issue a recall although the recall solution is a little short on solution.

I have yet to read anything that gives me hope about the future direction of Jeep. It seems that a nitch market will be cumming open for the introduction of a vehicle similar to the original Jeep that offroaders can work on without $50,000 worth of computers and an electrical engineering degree. I would love to see Ford come out with something on the order of the first Bronco with 8.8's front and back and a good little 6 banger. You should be able to produce something like this in the $10 to 12,000 range for a striped down model and have a huge line of bolt on extras.

:D,thats funny. Until the government gets their hands on it and it turns into a 50k vehicle.

I would not expect much from a jeep with a mini van motor and plastic bumpers.
