Picked me up a cheap knock off Hi Lift (actually Justin aka alwaysoutdoor did) and Mike used his superior welding skills to help me find the perfect mounting location.

I have the Warn Tire carrier, very nice, very strong, but Warn failed to put a Hi Lift mounting location on it. I guess they figured you don't need one if you buy there winch.

That's a nice piece of engineering Mike and Teddy.

It was fun. It was my first time at melting someone else's steel so I was a little nervous but I think it turned out okay.

FYI - it was a small section of 1/4" plate that we used and the bolts were 1/2" (I think).

Is the other nut to hold on the jack a wingnut or do you need a tool to get the jack free from the mount? If you welded one end of the bolt on, a wingnut should hold it on pretty well (both ends).

Both the top and the bottom are secured with wingnuts. It requires no tools to remove and can be removed with out removing the spare.
