It's a car with a transfer case, made by Jeep. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I spent many, many years Jeeping in a 1967 Jeepster/Commando.

Mine was a half-cab truck not a wagon though.

Here is a picture of me in the back of it; circa 1977 or so.

Some more interesting history on this model.

Everyone knows that the 1960s-mid 1970s Jeeps were made by the Willys Corp....

However, from 1967-1974; there were actually two different Jeep-lines being produced at the same time!

Willys was producing the CJ5 and CJ6s then; and
Kaiser was producing the C101-C104 Jeepster/Commandos!

Actually, Kaiser was the parent company that owned Willys at that time; but for that short window; until Kaiser sold the Jeep line to AMC; there were two distinct Jeep-lines being produced.

They had similarities; but also had differences as well.

Most of the Kaiser Jeeps ran the Buick Dauntless V6 engine.
The moniker for the Kaiser Jeeps was 'c101 & c104' which represented the wheel-base...the longer c104 being in the 73-74 models I believe.

Also, you can usually tell an early vs late model Kaiser Jeep by the front grill too; the early model had the 'traditional' jeep slated grill; while the later models had the big chrome-molding grill; much like the similar Waggoneers and Gladiators of that period that came out of the willys line.

The Jeepster name itself; was not knew to the 67-74 Kaiser Jeepline though...It was originally a touring convertible Keep that came out by Willys in the late 40s that was only available in 2wd...that was the original Jeepster.

Oh well, enough Jeepster trivia for now.
