I don't think those were rodents and the landscape sort of favored Afganistan.

Not a sniper, just a firearms enthusiast, turned Jeeper, who is a friend to several great soldiers. One can learn a lot from hanging out with you guys. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I prefer a carbine myself. I wouldn't have the patience to be a sniper.

I would like to apologize for my earlier remarks, as they were not appropriate. At the time, I was upset and this post reminded me of a past situation that had frustrated me. I intended no disrespect to anyone. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

Contrary to what some of you may think, those are NOT humans flying into the air like that, regardless of if you think it's a .50 caliber. Some of you have seen too many movies. Those "bodies" are most likely prairie dogs or the like, and that effect can be created with a .223 at about 400 yards, but considering the distance, it was perhaps a .30-06 or a 300 winchester magnum on a small "critter". Please don't think that a .50 cal rifle can create that sort of dynamic "movie action", nor can a shotgun blast blow someone 6 feet back through plate glass window.
