View Full Version : rear tow hook
Could anyone let me know what size and what all the hardware will be to install this tow hook on my 04 wrangler, a friend of mine changed bumbers and gave this one to me. He said that he used it a couple of times and it worked good, just need to be careful.
Thanks for any info.

what rear tow hook would that be? Any pictures?
It's just the factory tow hook that bolts to the frame under the driverside rear, sits under the bumper. I don't have a pic right now but can get one tomorrow.
I found a pic of one, it's not a great pic but you can see where it bolts on. I don't know how to post could I send it to you?
It has 2 holes. The front hole bolts in using the factory bumper mount bolt, simply remove that bolt, put the tow hook in over it, and put the bolt back in. You MAY want to take that bolt out and go buy a grade 8 bolt ot the same thread around 1/2" longer. The other bolt goes thru the frame. There is no existing bolt here but there is a hole. It will accomidate a 1/2" thread bolt, 1 1/2" long should be plenty. You need to put the bolt thu the tow hook and frame. Holding the bolt in place there is a spot big enough to get a nut inside the frame. GEt the nut in the frame and thread it up. I would tyr to get a locke washer in there too so it is easier to get tight. thats is your done
Thanks, this is great help. Now I can get this on.
Good Luck!!!!Happy Jeepin
