Well if we started a Micah needs better parts on his jeep forum then I could just go there. Really though I would rather just read everybody elses posts here.
I bet, I don't mind Body damage, it's when it won't or can't roll is when I'm upset......By the way where are pix of the "new" fenders?

Hey I got one that looks like that too. I was lucky that one of the guys with us had a welder.

Well, met up with rod and jabo last night and got my new (used) tie rod and I put it in today. So the jeep is back on the road. I hate not being able to drive it.

I agree with Fred, it was a good idea. It was the exact kind of thinking that was needed to make a trail fix work.
Way to go /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif

What caused this to happen again? I'm about to do my post-TB/750miles of running examination of the XJ and wondered if there was anything I can look for that caused this to Michah's. I can handle damage on the body, but to have that baby break on the hiway... I am not in the position to upgrade yet for a new one. Thanks for any tips or info.
Just look around underneith for unusual wear and tear. If the metal looks stressed it may be ready to break.

Just got back from looking at the undercarriage. Nothing out of the ordinary. Tie rod looks good. I do have a groove on one side of my rotors where a rock got in there I presume. These are new rotors as of March. Braking seems fine, so didn't know if that is an issue or not. I do have to fool with my drag link since my steering wheel points to 2 oclock. I put some major hilljack plastic on my passenger window right now, but it's not clear enough. I bet Wal-mart sees this alot, so I'll try them tomorrow. Looking at the door...it's not gonna be fun getting off. It's made to be permanent..duh!

Hey IndyXJ, checkout Mike Wards gallery. Mike pulls the doors off his Grand on a very regular basis and I bet he can give you some tips on doing an R & R to your door. Grove in brake rotor isn't an issue... probably won't find a shop that will turn this rotor in the future, but other than that, no problems as long as rock is out.
