I was fortunate enough to find an offroad area just northeast of Dallas while i was working. I headed for the trails and had several creek crossings, mud pits and steep hills and off camber areas. I posted one pic under Jefferson1964 showing me coming out of a creek. There were two other creek crossings where the water was deep up to the door seal. Unfortunately i do not have pics of these.

There is a guy a met at a Jeep Jamboree last year that lives close to this place, bout 4 miles away. I called and told him about it and he said he knew of the place and i said thanks for telln me, lol....There are a couple of friends with wranglers that can go which is good cuz there lots of places to get stuck here, creeks and mud bogs. I took it careful yesterday as i was by myself and not another vehicle was seen so didnt want to make a long walk out for a tow....
Tom, I wish i could come up and wheel at Turkey Bay, I also wish there was a place close to my home like Turkey Bay. Ya would think in a metroplex with 4 Million people someone would have a place to go paid or otherwise for folks just wanting to go offroad...
Your in TX? How far from MOAB, and the Rubicon, and all the other wester wheelin hot spots? I'm sure a few hours BUT we have guys that make 4+ hour treks for Turkey BAy, I WOULD DEFINATLY make a trek like that once in a while for MOAB!!

Jefferson, with 4 million people or so in the DFW area, I'm surprised there's ANY areas to wheel around there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I bet down by Austin in the Hill Country or up in Oklahoma in the Arbuckles you could find a few spots to enjoy some good wheeling.

I'm one of the 4hour + guys, but I also mix it with visiting what the area has to offer, fishing, camping, boating, hiking, etc. Great place. I used to live near Eddyville. If there was a good computer job in the area, I'd move!

MOAB, its about 18 hours away but would like to go sometime.
I would like to live in Denver again. I was stationed there in the mid 80's and just love the area....ahhh but the entire family is in DAllas/Ft worth area....Denver...4-5 hours from Moab, lots of trails in the mountains close by, Yellowstone 8 hours Glacier NP. 16 hours....nice central location.....
