so after all these months of my jeep not really moving more than a few feet at a time, i finally got her going pretty good! i did about 500 miles on pavement, then decided to go hit up short mountain near woodbury, tn. i went with a buddy of mine that i just met today in an xj, and it was his first wheelin trip.
i definitely went up some hills that made my butthole pucker, which made me very proud of my ol' road rhino. this is the best offroad performance i've gotten from a carb'd vehicle, which i was surprised by, after all the horror stories i've heard about how bad the edlebrock 1406 blows offroad, lol.
i'm waiting on andy to email me some pics, but i'll upload them shortly after he does.
his xj is pretty sweet. it is only lifted 2.5", but is built with a complete rubicon drivetrain, on tj rubicon axles, rims and the goodyears that they came with, lockers and all. he did very well!
i have quite a bit more ground clearance, but i haven't installed my lockers just yet. i'd say overall, we did great!
i did mess up my passenger front door and passenger rear quarter panel a bit, but i think i can make it look decent again from across the parking lot.:D
it was a great time. wheelin reminded me of why i'm a jeep guy in the first place! and even though she isn't a cj or an xj, i was quite proud of the waggy's offroad prowess.
1990 grand wagoneer, 360 v8, tf727, np 229, dana 44's, 32's, rusty's 4" spring lift.:D
