Just gonna let ya'll know that I will be attempting the ultimate and installing 1 ton axles into my Jeep in the near future. I am not too sure what I have so far just that they are from an 89 F350. I am going to try and take pics as all this goes on so that a write-up can be done for Tech section. Do we have a tech section???? Maybe we will soon.

So which axles did ya end up getting? and what gears, 3.73's?!?!?!?!
Bill, did you end up purchasing that pick up truck we discussed a while back? Won't this axle change also require new wheels and tires? How wide are the axles compared to factory TJ axles...... Lastly, are you going to have this mod completed before our August trail ride?

You Tennessee guys and your 1 Tons I knew it wouldn't be long. Dana 60 and Dana 70 I am guessing. Are you gonna run full width or are you gonna cut them down. I am guessing you are gonna run a long arm system and Hydro steering huh? I have a lot of questions because I too am looking for some one tons. A Corprate 14 bolt and 60 to be excact. But I am gonna put them under some tube and what's left of a Sammi.

Well, No I didn't buy that truck. It is a 1/2 ton. Yes I will have to have new wheels. Hummer beadlocks will work nicely. These are 8 lug jobs. Tires will come when I go with a 8 or 10" springs. TJ axles are 60" wms. These 1 tons are about 66-68" wms. If I went with hummer wheels then I probably would not be much wider to the outisde of the tires than I am now. Not sure how this will all work out as far as August is concerned. I need to clean them up and tear them apart and rebuild them to start with. Whew!!! That is a lot to type.

OK Scrambled let me try this again. I either have a Dana 70 or Dana 80 rear and a Dana 50 or Dana 60 front. Haven't figured it out yet. Gonna keep em full width. No Hydro for now. I hope to fab my own long arm setup using a triangulated 3rd link in the rear for some amazing rear flex.
I can hook ya up with a match set 60 front 14FF rear with 4.56's and a Detroit in the rear from an 84 Chevy DRW Army truck with 76000 miles on em. $1600 OBO. He is in Hickory, NC. Be glad to help you out if you are interested.

[/ QUOTE ] I have two buddies that are running a three link set up and they are amazing. They could use a little more weight in the back to get crazy RTI numbers but we both know those numbers don't mean jack. On the trail they are machines. I like that you are staying full width. That should give that TJ great stability and I know that is what places like Tellico call for. What size tire you plannin on runnin. Let me guess a 44 in cut TSL up front and A 44inch cut Bogger in the back /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif
As far as those axles go I am definitley interested. How soon is he looking to get rid of those things? What is the WMS on those things.I don't have cash on me today but a week or so I think I could swing it. Why don't you PM me with your number.

Nope not running a 44. That is useless except in mud, IMHO. Between a 37 and a 39.50 tire. I PM'd you and I will try to find out the WMS on em too.
