Does anyone know about this stuff called "Liner X-Treme"? It is a do-it-yourself bedliner which contains kevlar. Any reccomendations or suggestions would be great. Also looking into getting cornor guards any help there? Have seen some that are screwed in and some that tape on... as much as I don't want to put holes in my jeep just yet, this whole tape idea seems a little sketchy to me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/animxj.gif

Virginia:

I got some Poison Spyder corner panels for my Jeep, and they are top quality. They were shaped perfectly to fit, and the holes for the gas tank filler neck and the tail lights were in exactly the right positions.

I wish I had painted them white before installing them.

They provide excellent protection, and I highly recommend them. They come in black powder coat, but you can paint them whatever color you think would look the best.

These do require that holes be drilled in your Jeep. You'll get over it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

V,
I have never heard of the Liner X-treme. I have heard of Herculiner. Is that the same thing? I even searched on the web and could not find it. Herculiner works very well and if you have an aircompressor then you can buy an undercoat spray gun at Northern Tool for about $6 and spray it on yourself instead of rolling it on. It is some tuff stuff. It comes in red, gray, and black.

V: I have no personal experience with it, but I have been told that the Herculiner type products work well on interior type surfaces like Tubs on Jeeps, and beds of pick up trucks, etc. Howere they don't work so well, or look clean on exterior surfaces such as bumpers, rock rails, etc.
Like I said, no personal experience but I think the information is solid.

Herculiner and the X-Treme are two different types. The X-treme has kevlar in it... or so they say. Also, I have been looking into an air compressor, but know NOTHING about them. I have seen a few on e-bay which are run from the 12V and are primarily used to jump start your vehicle. There max psi is about 150. The bedliners seem to reccomend at max about 80psi. Do you know if these items would work do to the spray on? The actual air compressors that I saw were in the upper hundreds and thousands of dollars...

What you need to spray this stuff is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of a 60 Gallon, 5-7 hp compressor. These will hold up to 175 psi in the tanks. Problem is if you use a smaller one, you will need to keep it at 80 psi then you will spray a little and then have to stop and let the compressor fill back up. The little 12v jobs you have seen are for pumping your tire up in an emergency. Now if you wanted to take a trip down south I would be happy to spray it on for ya. You can roll it on as advertised but you go through alot more product that way. 1 gallon of this stuff is all you should need to do the inside of your tub. It will look just fine if you roll it on BTW. A friend of mine did this and it was pretty good. Just be careful not to let it drip or "glob" up. And WHATEVER you do, do not get it on any "sensitive" areas because it has to wear off once it starts to dry. Hope this helps ya out. But down here it will cost about $500-550 to have a shop to do it. If you want it any color other than black then they will charge another $150 to special order the color to match your vehicle.

Well, I haven't touched them up, but I probably need to in a couple places. Buttpucker Gulch took some of the powder coat off.
