View Full Version : A springy question

Background... ALL KJs built after 04-02-2002 are LOWER than their earlier siblings. This lowering is approximatly 3/4 inches.

Quick question... let's say that there was a pull it yourself yard nearby me, that just happened to have an '02 KJ, pre-lowered. Would it be worth it to snag the springs? Would they have sagged to the point where no "lift" could be obtained by using them? At what mileage or age would these springs be worthless? All coils too.

Confused...
(NOTE: The KJ I'm mentioning is not known to exist at said yard. I'm just curious.)

I would say DEPENDING ON PRICE it is worh pulling and replacing. 3/4"-1" is alot when offroad!

If there's no sign of a hitch, and the back of the rear seat and cargo floor and headliner show no signs of heavy loading, more than likely the springs are fine. Just dont tell them why it must be from an 02, it might raise the price! Happy hunting
