Well, solid axle control arms front and back. Hopefully this extinguishes that crazy IFS rumor. Obviously coils. (Duh). Definitely a more squared off appearance. I hope those wheels come with it! Those tires look very big. More clearance too, maybe? Looks like the bottom of the door is lower.
Something is up over in the top area. Can anyone guess what it could be? It's much more covered up than anything else.
Um, BFG Mud Terrains? That's a surprise. Probably a Rubicon.

Thoughts? Complaints? (Please use common sense here)
Looks like a marshmello jeep! LOL all the cover-up padding! Doesn't look all too different so far. We will all see soon enough.

I've seen the hemi mentioned several times in the speculative articles, but nobody ever mentions the 4.7. Maybe its too dull for the press, but I have one in my WJ and it is a really great engine--smooth, torquey, and plenty of power for a 4000 lb vehicle.

cool a hefty bag w/ wheels hahahaaaaa ..
I wonder the fate of the unlimited models ? will they be destin to take the course of the scrambler w/ a limited 3 year run ?04 1/2-06 ? looks that way .Looks a bit boxy to me even w/ the cover ups .sure hope they do not go w/ euro headlights .
This was at the Chicago Car Show this year. It could not be set up any better than it is. Oh, and it does have a Hemi in it. Not much room on the inside though.

Would anyone mind a 3.8L V6 (http://allpar.com/mopar/33.html) , or a 2.4L 4 cylinder (http://allpar.com/mopar/world-engine.html)?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/marlonjbt/9621_image.jpg
Sounds to me like they will pass on using the 3.7L. Any V8 offered is still a rumor. Those engines look to be facts, at least, right now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smashfreakB.gif
I'd like to see the "official" report that this is indeed going into production for 2007. I called Jeep several times about some of their "concept" cars and this one was not scheduled for prodcuction, which means it's still only a "concept" car.

The Wrangler is going into production, that's for sure. You're looking at it in these pictures. That's what this topic is about. The Gladiator, will PROBABLY go into production, but definitely NOT when the Wrangler is released in the Summer/Fall of 2006.
And of course, Jeep isn't gonna tell you anything. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

DC won't put a V-8 into a Wrangler due to insurance reasons. Its a nice dream. The closest thing would be the Tobbasco concept TJ that had the 318 (5.2L) V-8 in it w/ NOS.

or the AEV conversions with the 5.7L Hemi V8. http://members.shaw.ca/snowjeep/smilies/droolfactor10.gif http://members.shaw.ca/snowjeep/smilies/droolfactor10.gif

DC has taken designs from AEV before...
The Unlimited comes to mind... went to production.
The Gladiator appears similar to the Brute... tentative.
I wouldn't rule out a V8 just yet. In the shots we've seen, the front end looks big enough to house a V8 quite easily, though I wouldn't necessarily expect one at launch.
While a V8 would be nice for the extra torque when crawling and the HP for highway cruising, but I'm not so sure it is really REQUIRED to make a Wrangler successful. They've done well w/o one for quite some time with the YJ's and TJ's.
I just wouldn't want them to do to the Wrangler what they did to the GC... do an SRT version that really isn't even capable of going down a dirt road very well. That would *******ize the Wrangler (or its replacement's) name.
If they dropped em in there, I could see the 4.7 from the Grand or possibly a hemi, with the 4.7 being more likely to show up first. Realize that just like swapping from a 4 to 6 cyl, they probably have to offer a different tranny to work with a V8 (torque). Is DC going to offer that many variables on a Wrangler? I dunno.

545RFE. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif Solves all transmission problems. Don't wanna use that one? I got another alphanumeric combination for you. W5A580. Want a manual? NSG-370, like they're already using. They have an even stronger tranny for the V8, but I can't think of the name of it right now. I believe it's a Getrag.
Please... no Wrangler SRT-8.

Yeah, but if you remember back to the CJ5/7 days, V-8 were offered. I don't expect to do 0-60 in my SWB jeep in under 5 seconds, but having the extra power/torque readily available would be nice.

Marlon-are they actually making 06' Wranglers? I've been hearing rumours, which appear to be just that, that there is no 06. Supposedly like they did in 96 with no Wrangler. Thanks for any info.
Marlon_JBT

Yes they are.
There was no '96 Wrangler because the TJ was not done yet, and the YJ did not have airbags, which was mandated for MY '96.

Is the Gladiator the truck-like Jeep shown in the original post? If so, put me down for one...

Here's the problem with the name Cherokee...
The KJ is known as the Cherokee outside North America. They would have to rename the TK something else outside NA.
I still think it will be either Wrangler or Rescue.

The boxyness of it makes me think of the boxyness of the back of the new Land Rovers.

That's not "latest". That is a photoshopped 2-Door Rescue. The picture has been floating around on the web for over a year.
