Folks,
Turkey Bay will remain closed through this weekend. I checked it out today on the UTV. I'm convinced the freeze/thaw action every 24 hours is mostly to blame for the extremely soft trails. The first 3-4 inches of soil is complete slop, even on the trails we fixed using the vibratory compactor last spring. At least with a rain event, the moisture has a chance to either soak in or run off. Not this time of year.
I sincerely apologize for the extended closure as I know everyone has a bad case of cabin fever. Please bear with us. These closures are not intended to shut down the sport we all enjoy, but rather keep it open and available in the long run. If you have any questions, please give me a call.
