Ok seriously I just got off the phone with an acquaintance who stated to me that he had his Jeep worked on and he had to remove his front drive shaft because his transfer case in 4WD at all times. Now before you sit there and say take it back. He does not want to do business with this said 4wd shop. So I have told him that I do believe his transfer case will pretty much fail him once he puts a driveshaft on it and puts a true load on it, because with this T-case running at highway speeds full time. Can anyone prove me right or wrong on this please?

I wouldn't think so becuase you do have 4wd high and I have run it pretty fast before. When I ran it I has just the front drive shaft in and no rear. I never had an issue with the T case.

DONT RUN 4WD ON NON SLIPPERY SURFACES!!!! (with both driveshafts connected)

the bind will explode something...

His linkage is probably just not dialed in right... get under the jeep and adjust it.
You can adjust it to see if it will help, if you crawl underneath you will see the linkage on the drivers side. There will be a small bolt on a long rod which you can loosen and move forward or backward slightly to adjust. Do it in increments so you don't throw it way out of wack. Tighten and enjoy!

Guess I've been lucky. I ran the exploder in 4x4 in alaska from the first snow til the roads were solid pavement again. No problems yet, knock on wood.

What kind of work was preformed on the jeep? This might help diagnose the problem. I wouldn't do much running in 4wd on dry pavement. I don't think the speed would be the problem, it would be the loading and unloading from turning that would probably break something.

why does he "think" its in 4wd alllll the time??? cause the front shaft turns all the time???If that is the case then thats normal...Without having lockouts on the front axle the front DS will turn at all times in tj/zj/wj/96-01 xj :)
