Dome light question

Hey all, I have a '03 TJ X and it came with the overhead speakers that have the dome lights in them. When I shut off the Jp the lights come on for about 10 seconds, kinda a valet thing I guess. But when I open my doors (Jp on or off) the lights don't come on. Are they suppose to?

Lights inside a Jp are new fangled things for me.

Yes they should come on.

Check your #4 fuse. If it is blown, that's your problem. If you removed the fuse, so you could go doorless and then forgot to put the fuse back in, that's your problem.

Yeah, I could of forgot....but I haven't had the doors off yet - that I can remember.

The previous owner must of went doorless. Thanks, I'll check on the fuse.

Didn't know you bought the Jeep used. Bet the previous owner pulled the fuse and went doorless? Any evidence that the doors have been off? Missing or scratched nuts on the door hinges?

Yeah, come to think of it, the paint on the hinge nuts is scraped off a bit. I bet he went doorless.

Yeah, I bought it used. Its a 2003 and I bought it in April of 2004. It had 10k miles on it.

I have yet to buy a brand new jeep just the way I want.
