Has anyone ever adjusted (cut a few inches off) their stock wrangler 4.0 tailpipe to improve clearance?
I'm thinking about it cause it hits before anything. Don't wanna dismember it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

After messing my tailpipe up big time, I was told that the Firewalker Jeeps use a torch to heat and bend the stock pipe up out of the way. When I replace my tailpipe, I'll give this a try.

Bending the tailpipe out of the way isn't a major issue..... My buddy said that he had a muffler shop replace his tailpipe after he messed it up on the trails. Once new pipe had been installed, the installer stuck a chunk of wood (4x4?) between the tailpipe and the Jeep near the bend that goes over the rear axle. The installer then heated the tailpipe and used a gloved hand to push end of tailpipe up closer to the body of the Jeep. If you do this at home, just be careful with torch around gas tank.
