OK, just put 4" lift as per other post (haven't fixed the vibes yet). Noticed a wierd grinding sound in 5th and 6th coming from what sounds like the clutch right under the shifter. I got home and took a peak and noticed a fluid leak from where the engine mates to the tranny housing. For those military minded I'd describe it as a CL I leak...nothing serious but a leak none-the-less (on a brand new jeep). can't tell if its the rear main seal, the oil pan gasket, or something else.

So, anyone have first hand experience with this? I can think of no other explanation other than me screwing around with dropping the t-case to get rid of DS vibrations. What I think I might do is take the entire lift out, bring it back to the dealership and have them fix it under warranty. I'm afraid if I bring it in with the lift they'll say thats what caused it and charge me out the *****. Anyone change the real main themselves on late model TJs w/ 4.0?? Help please.

wait a day to see if anyone can help you in the forum. Other than that, I would switch it all back out and let the warranty take care of it. Its alot of work but its a FRESH START.

No, this leak is NOT caused because of your lift. What color is the fluid that's leaking?
