New to this forum...
I have a stock 79 CJ7 that I am going to do a frame-off resto and want to do a build up. This is for trail rides, mudding but not serious rock crawling...
Parts I have already that are options:
From a 78 Bronco: D44 and 9 inch rear, C6 (big block pattern) and the np205
These axles are too wide for me I think, but would consider cutting them down. Love the trans but its for a big block. Love the np205. I have the 400M but its not worth the effort for the lack of parts avail and it only puts out 158 hp!!!! All this is set for drivers side drop
From a 75 cherokee chief: D44 front and rear, great width for me I think, but alas....passenger side drop.
So, looking for suggestions for a motor/trans combo and I am seriousy considering a propane setup, so motor with carb would be prefered. Of course a donor vehicle I could find with everything would make life easier if you can think of which vehicle....please help!!!!
