A friend of mine ordered a pair of TJ bumper from this place in May. He received both in Aug and the front fit and looked great but the rear was absolutly not a correct fit. He contacted Nate on several occasions and Nate told him to dispose of the old bumper and a new one was in the mail. It is now Oct and no rear bumper. He has been trying to contact Nate for the past 6 weeks or so with no success. I am spreading this post around to warn folks about poor customer service and poor buisness practices, and maybe see if the internet jeep community can get something done.

Heres his post from our club site:

I ordered a set of bumpers from this guy on May 15th 2009. Received them in August and the rear one did not fit. Have been told by Nate himself that he was sending out a replacement one on two different occasions which has never happened. Have not been able to get a hold of him for about 6 weeks. I have been emailing and calling him at least twice a week. My last email on Tuesday October 6th 2009 informed him that he has until the end of the week to show verification/proof that the replacement bumper has shipped or I am contacting his local police department which I will be doing in the morning.

Communications have been nearly non existent during the entire process and the rear bumper did not fit, not even close. He seems like a nice guy, but when you send out stuff this slow that doesn't fit and you are impossible to contact tells me otherwise about the operation of his business. Don't try to save money by ordering from this guy, the customer service and prompt delivery times are worth the extra cash from all of the other places that sell bumpers. I feel I have been more than patient with the entire situation and am just ready to get through it in which ever way puts me back at even whether it be receiving the bumper or the refund for the rear bumper and shipping. If anyone is close to this location, or knows this guy tell him the guy from order number 739 needs him to contact me. Or PM me for my number if you care to stop by his place and give me a call so I can talk to him. Will update as the story progresses.

This is the site and his contact info from the site.

Well the slow was being dealt with but the lack of communications is the big issue

I wonder how close Marlon is to Midland, MI, maybe he could swing by Nates and see what is going on. Nate may have loaded up his toys and moved on.

How is this News? He is bashed on every forum I have been on.

One would have to be very foolish to trust him and place an order with him. I do not understand why people keep ordering stuff from him. Does Nates 4X4 have any happy customers?

Well I didn't and wouldn't order from the guy, I am just trying to help him get resolution OR trying to keep someone else from ordering from the guy

took 6 weeks to get bumper brackets from him.
I called and was even told they were in stock.
had multiple shipping promises that were never met.
Horrible vendor.

The reason he still gets business is that his prices are very low.

I figured i would at least get something that was in STOCK in a reasonable time, but maybe my reasonable and his are different.

It took multiple phone calls and emails before ever getting a response.
Filed complaints with bbb etc...

Learned my lesson.

Him and the guy from California Tops...
X2 on California Tops/Half tops, I went around and around with this joker, I ended up taking my new top to a local shop and had him make the top fit at my expense.

I ran up on Nates web site and saw a good looking bumper. This was before I found the forums that had good (ha ha) words to say about him and his service. I called him and talked to him about his Slimline winch bumper he had on SALE. Sounded great. Then we discussed building a pre-runner style bumper for may car pool line Cherokee. He agreed to build one for me,good price also. Then the adventure begin. Jan.4 placed order for pre-runner bumper and Slim line winch bumper. Jan.18 he and family had been sick. Jan.19 wife's mother passed away. Jan.31 bumpers shipped. (ha ha) Received pre-runner bumper 1st week of Feb.(amazing) but what no mounting hardware that I paid for. Could not get him on the phone voice mail only and NO response by email either. Last week received Slimline bumper guess what NO mounting hardware. Phoned, voice mail only I tried to fill his voice mail up. Sent email, same as the others sent NO response.
As of today I still don't have the mounting kits I ordered and paid for. Checked his website, the mounting kits I paid 25.00 for are now .01, yes just one penny with the purchase of a bumper.
Nate hope you are reading this, please send me my hardware.::p

If you paid with a CC, call and dispute all charges as bumpers don't do you any good without mounting kit... at least this needs to be your line with CC as having Nates money pulled is probably the only way you will ever hear from him.

Thanks Don, that was just what I did the morning before the second bumper was delivered that afternoon. I guess he is doing ok without it or he takes care of his bank account like he takes care of his customers.

Love to support the small business, but that is one reason I went with jeeperman. Glad Edd got control back and is once again involved with them. I hope Nate gets his act together. Good word is hard to come by but can be lost quickly and hard to restore

First thing you will want to do is to confirm that brackets are even in the correct location and that the holes align up. If the bumper is useable, I would look for frame tie in kit and for the hardware required to mount the bumpers. AFTER, I got the bumpers mounted, I would subtract all my expenses and send the difference to him, or you can just wait to see if he ever contacts you.

Guess what ! Right after an email asking him to MAN UP! I got an email with USPS tracking number. Mounting kits were shipped that day and I got them 4 days later.
No more dealing with him again...

Don't jump for joy until you actually get this puppy mounted. I have heard stories of brackets being pretty far off from where they should be making the install a Royal PITA.

Good luck...
