My name is David and I have been owning a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara for about a year now. My dream vehicle has been a Jeep since I was 15 years old, and now I have it.
Hopefully someone out there can help me, I have never taken my Jeep offroad, because I don't know where to go. If anyone out there lives in or around New Orleans and knows a place that I can go, please respond. I am itching to see what my rig can do.

Welcome! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif

You'd be more than welcome to come up here to the TN/KY area and ride. We have a bunch of places to go and all ranging from easy - extreme.

David:

Welcome to ItsaJeep!

Man, if you just lived close enough to Turkey Bay to make it practical for you to go there, I would be glad to show you around the place and to help ya get started in this wonderful hobby of off roading.

I don't know of any places to wheel anywhere near NO, but try to find a local Jeep club, and maybe they know of some places.

I can tell you this much, though. If you are going to start off roading, tow hooks front and back, a CB radio, and a tow strap are the bare necessities. A lot of clubs REQUIRE that you have these things as minimums for riding with them.

I know there are several Louisiana-based 4x4 clubs. You might even find some up in Mississippi.

Welcome!

Hi there David. I just returned from a business trip to LA, and there has GOT to be several off-roading clubs around there. There's all kinds of terrain there jkust beggin' for a Jeep. Just look around, and I'm sure you'll find some. Then, go have a blast. Welcome! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif

David...you might try around, I believe it is ST.Francisville, LA. They have a Jeep Jamboree there. If not the Jamboree, try to see what if any clubs are located there. It is north of Baton Rouge. F7 on my map /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/36_12_6[1].gif. Hope this helps.

Welcome David..GO SAINTS !!!!!
My hubby was born and raised in La..
Jeep Jamboree USA holds one of their Jambos in St Francisville each year..Looking at a map, the off road area shouldn't be too terribly far from you..
