Well, I got them unpainted so I could put on the bed liner.
1a. I started by sruffing up the metal with fine sand paper for better adhesion, which I did over the whole rockers.
1b. I used vinegar over all of the rocker guards in order to get rid of any grease that i could using shop towels to clean them off.
2. I got them preped with a Rust Preventer(called Prep and Prim from Lowes), doing two coats to prevent an easy chance for rust to set in. I did the first coat and then thirty minutes later, you must rinse it with water to get rid of any excess coating. I then waited 6 hrs to put on the second coat did the same, waited for 30 minutes and lighty rinsed it off.

3. I let that dry for 24 hours, and then I just used Spray Can Primer, which I also got from Lowes. I spray both of the Rocker Gaurds thorougly everywhere, and try not to miss to many spots.

(sorry the pic aint that good, but they are both the same color, one is just showing more shadow than the other from the camera being in Night mode)
4. I let that sit over night inorder for it to dry really good. I then got out the fine grit sand paper again the next morning and loosley went over all of both rocker guards to give it good adhesion.
5. Next was the bed-liner paint. I used the Duplicolor Spray In Bed-liner in the spray can. I used about 4 good *LIGHT* coats on both rocker guards, even on the underside, with 1 hr intervals to makes sure it didnt get to gooey and thick.
6. I then waited for 12 hrs till it was nice and dry, and started to get ready to put them on the Jeep.
7. I unbolted the small fender flares that get to be thrown in the trash. I drilled out the bolt holder thingies that held the small flares bolts in the body.
8.I used the Shower Tub liner (grey in color that is about 1/16 of an inch thick), as a gasket and put it on the rocker and cut it to fit the shape of the rocker.
9. I then cleaned the surface of the body of where the rockers would be going(both on the side and under the body), and I got ready to put to put the rocker guards on. I used two jacks to hold the the rocker guard in place, and evenly jacked it up to the side of the body until I got a tight fit. I then put the Shower Tub liner in between the body and the guards for the gasket and then i pre drilled the holes, using the rocker guard as a outline, with a 5/16th bit into each location of the body, putting the nuts, bolts, and there spacers in each location to help hold it in place. I then went and and tightened each bolt into the body with an allen wrench(used with counter sunk bolts) and a with a socket wrench (forgot which sizes I used).
10. I then went to the other side of my jeep and did steps 7-9 again.
