I was messn around and folded up the rear seat which was a breeze and then unhitched it and pulled it out....Jeep got it right, it was easy to fold up and take out and all the room in the back!!! I went over and picked up a lawn mower and the box fit in the back no problem. The rear seat out kinda looks like the ole scrambler, just a little.....

The rear seat was in Thelma Jane for only about the first month that I owned her and then once for just one day since then.

I really need the cargo room for tool boxes and Ross Allen. I don't have the extra space that you have with that Unlimited. Bet it is really roomy with the back seat out.

My rear seat didn't stay in for more than a couple weeks. It hasn't been back in since. Kind of reminds me of my hardtop that has been sitting on one of my work benches for the past year, plus. I can't imagine how much room is in the rear of an Unlimited with the rear seat removed.

The Sport's back seat is currently going to good use as a saddle rack under my stairs. It hasn't been in since our trip to Canada something like 5 years ago.

The Unlimited's seat is still in. I just haven't felt the need to take it out because the back is so much bigger. That's going to change in May - we're going up to Monterey for my (older) niece's graduation. She's going to USC next year so it looks like we'll be storing stuff over the summer for both of my nieces. I have no idea how I'm going to get all their stuff in the back of the Unlimited, even without the seat!

One good thing is the seat is not very heavy like in my fathers expedition. I will be replacing my seat as I need it for my son and his car seat.

I took my unlimited to a real estate class i had to take, boorrrinnng. However, the instructor came out during the first break and asked who's jeep it was, i said mine and he wanted to talk to me at lunch. At lunch he said he had the first year liberty and wanted to trade for an unlimited but had not seen the rubicon version. I let him sit in and opened it up and he really liked the rubi version. He told me he was going to place an order when he got home, i think he said Virginia......do i get the $50 finders fee, LOL.......

Oh just a little extra, im getting right at 16 mpg i was hopping for more but still better than my xterra. Is this about average for a wrangler?

Yes that is average. Im getting about 14 MPG on my four banger, but I have 32" tires with stock gearing.

Jeff, I suspect that a lot of people will want to be taking a closer look at that Jeep of yours. I have seen Unlimiteds, but I have yet to see an Unlimited Rubi. Want to drive to KY and show it to me? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I get just plain BAD milage in mine. It is a 6cy, with 32's and 3.07's! This combo KILLS my milage on road!

I got the 6 cyl, 33 inch mud tires, and 3.07 gears, I get 11.? in town. Never take this Jeep on x-way, so have no idea on highway MPG. Hey,, it's a Jeep. I didn't expect it to get good MPG. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I get around 13 according to the tripometer. But since the speedo is off by ten percent then I am not showing the actual amount of miles I am driving. Putting less on it than I am actually driving... hehehe...so I figure I am getting around 15 or so.

Hey, the rear seat works great in my living room when I play my play station. I can't get my wife to accept it though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Backseat? Oh yea I did have one at one time. Somewhere in my garage now. Replaced by a cargo box and cage on top of it. Gotta have stuff on the trail you know.
