so, how many of us has the dent(s) from unhooking the doors and letting the mirror hit the sheet metal? I have noticed MANY JK's with this dent, atleast on the drivers side. I had mine for about two weeks when i decided to clean the inside. I unhooked the doors and just layed them against the paint, not knowing i was laying it against the thinnest steel known to mankind and it left a dent. I then went and got a towel to put between the mirror and the side to keep it from gettin bigger. I thought i was the only one, but now i see like every JK has that dent. Why dont they make body protection yet for that area? Or do they?
I feel your pain. I have seen alot of Tj doors with lower damage where the owners remove the door by lifting up on the "upper soft top frame" to just drop the lower half not realizing it comes apart so easy. A lesson learned REAL quick!

When I lift off, I grab the bottom of the door and the edge with the latch. I remove the uppers before I pull the doors just so I don't do that. :)
we've been lucky enough to not dent my wifes JK.. but I'm sure its only a matter of time. I wonder if they'll make a body panel for that any time soon... Hrm.. someone email a custom fab shop. I'll let them use my wifes jeep to make the prototype!

Here's some advice... Don't completely unhook your doors unless you're taking them off. DUH!!!
Speaking of which, think I'll take mine off now...

Heck with that. Design them, patten the idea, sell them on eBay, or better yet, sell the rights to fab shops with you getting cut of each sale :)

Happened to me as I was taking the door off. So I had the bolts out and I was under the dash unhooking the wiring harness and the strap and right as I did that the wind blew and i was too late in grabing the door. Thus I have small dent on the driver side.
But its not big deal to me since its so small.
