1993 Grand Cherokee, V8, auto, full time 4WD: Started scrubbing the tires in tight turns. Does this Jeep have a viscous coupling or differential between the front and rear axles so that they can turn at different speeds in tight turns? Or any other ideas?

I'm under the impression that all 249 t-cases have a VC.

I could be wrong though ...

Other items to check -
Tires in good shape and the same size
Alignment is correct

If the VC is the problem, I'd recommend changing out the tcase to either the 231 or 242. The swap might even cost less than getting the VC fixed .....

Good luck!

349's suck thats why i swaped in a 231, there is nothing you can do about the 249 it will always jump around and skretch in tight turns.
