Dont sweat it Kevin. Stuff comes up that is of more importance (lift kits are VERY important), and that comes first. Just take all day working on the lift and dont rush it at all, because it is easier for you to skip a step or do something wrong. Take your time. My step-dad helped me install it and he is an impatient guy.
We did my rockers, I did one side and he did the other, and I took my time and he just went drilling away. Lucky, his power tool skills are better than most, so I didnt sweat it that much but I was sure to take my time b/c I am still, I guess you would say, at a learning stage, but I have really gotten better(long sentence, I know), but just TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!

I expect that Jeff Boardman and I will camp on Saturday night and possibly bring my two kids as well. We will come up Saturday morning and will wheel Saturday and Sunday... As long as the new lift install is complete and trials go well! If anyone else is camping it would be nice to hook up and camp together. Let me know.

yeah, it would be great to have a few of us all camp out together. I hope we can find a good spot at TB, but if we cant, there are a few other campgrounds nearby.
Anyone know what the weather forecast is for this weekend?

Rain Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Going south is looking better than wheeling at TB this weekend...

Brendan:
You are certainly welcome anytime you can make it. I didn't stay up late enough to see your post last night, and I'm not sure you will see this reply in time. It is very much touch and go this AM because of the rain. If you live very far away, you may want to wait and just try it tomorrow. There's a much better weather forecast for tomorrow (Saturday).
If for whatever reason we don't hook up this weekend, then we will definitely catch ya next time. Some of us go just about every Saturday.

Hey Fred!
Yes I have the lift installed as of yesterday but have yet to take it on a test drive. It is the Rubicon Express 4.5 YJ suspension lift with RE slip yoke eliminator and CV shaft. Tires are 33in Swamper SSR radials. I got about 3 inches of lift with the tires and 5 inches from the RE lift so it sits much higher than before! I have some odds and ends to take care of this evening like fluid replenishment, test drive and a once over on the entire system before I load it up for the trip. It will be interesting to see how it performs.
Brendon, Great to see you are gonna make it out with our group and even better to see you actually made it to our corner of the net, I'll be there tomorow around 9 and I have 1 newbe coming. I figure if we have as many jeeps as it looks like we will need to split into 2 groups, I figure 1 "easier" group and 1 "harder" group, and as always, there are extras to play on all the way so the easy can get hard and hard can get easy!
John, can't wait to see the YJ! I bet it LOOKS alot better on the trailer now! You will be performing WAY better than before, I am curiuos to see flex differences! See you 9ish tomorow. Fred

So the camping list is gonna be
1. Patrick
2. Joel
3. Fred
4. John and his buddy (are you still wanting to)
I plan on just bringing a sleeping bag and maybe an MRE for dinner. DOnt know what we could do for dinner though, maybe we could all bring something, and make a feast, im not sure. Anyways, just post up if you want to camp. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif
For the guys camping out, why not everyone bring a little something to eat, I can grab a small grill and some charcole, in fact don't need charcole, just hot coals from a fire, but bring whatever you may want to eat, I will bring a HUGE cooler so any cold stuff can be put in my truck and kept cold, such as ketchup, mustard, mayo, soda, water, BEER, yo uknow the essentials that must be kept cold! We can set camp in the open field where the huge water/mud holes are. GEt a little fire going and sit aroung singing KumByYa! Serious, I will bring some basic cooking stuff and I will get a grill!

Sounds good to me, how bout you Joel. I will bring something besides an MRE for dinner, and maybe we can all bring something like burgers, another person bring buns, ketchup etc.? Or anything actually is fine by me.
I am bringing pork chops, and maybe a steak, the cooler, a few sodas, drinking water, condiments, and maybe a can of corn or beans or something, basicly I am bringing stuff for me. I have a habatchi grill. I am gonna bring some pots and pans and some eggs and breakfast stuff too. See you guys tomorrow, I'M syced, can't wait, IT IS GONNA BE MUDDY!!!

I don't think I'll be there. As badly as I want to go, it's just too wet and muddy for me. I'm getting a lot of rain right now. It's Friday night @ 22:30 hours. My back yard looks like a river, and I'm not entirely sure, but I think I just saw my dad's geese go by in a row boat.
Tom, I'll just drop your sticker in the mail if that's ok. Was I supposed to bring any others????

In case I don't see some of you there, please take my warning: those hills are dangerous when the ground is as wet as it is this weekend. Usually, you don't make it to the top on a steep climb, it's no big deal, just use your brakes and go back down slowly, a little at a time. Yesterday, I had made it almost to the top of the first ridge south of the Silo, but I lost traction. When I hit my brakes, the tires locked, and I went sliding backwards down the hill, gaining speed. SCARY. I put her in reverse and let out the clutch, trying to use engine braking to keep the tires from locking up. This helped, I guess, because something finally get Thelma Jane stopped. The old pucker factor was pretty high for a few seconds.
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! DON'T TRY TO DO THE SAME THINGS YOU WOULD DO UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS!
