Im using my rubi unlimited as a daily driver right now and not using my 98 grand 4x4 I-6. The rubi tires are a bit rough on the street and was thinking of swapping tires/wheels from wrangler and grand. I have 31AT on grand that run great on the street plus it will keep wear off the rubi MT. Will this work, is spacing off or bolt pattern. I could check by just swapping but i figured some of u know and would keep me from wasting time if it will not work....Thanks, Jeff /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Man, Jeff, your Rubi would be embarrassed without her Moab wheels. Don't do that to her.

I think they would fit just fine, but your Rubi's appearance would suffer.

Oh, keep the lug nuts with the wheels. They are probably tapered to fit the particular wheel they came with.

Doesn't matter what you do to the Wrangler. It's yours, right? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif However...

1. The bolt pattern is 5x4.5 on the Wrangler.
2. The bolt pattern is 5x5x5 on the Grand Cherokee.

That alone makes this impossible (without wheel spacers that cost extra bucks and are controversial). And oh yeah.... the Wrangler MT/R is not a Mud Tire.

Not impossible. Wheel spacers are available that can adapt bolt patterns. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for answering my question. Yes the wrangler looks will suffer and since i cannot do it without spacers oh well....This bunch is great with the quick responses, again much appreciated......

Nope ... '98 Grand Cherokee bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5

The guy that bought my Canyon wheels put them on his JGC.

Confused.... everything I've seen says the bolt pattern is 5x5.5, and even looks that way? Time for some investigation...

If the bolt pattern is 5x4.5, then that's what I get for listening to those idiots on JU. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/furious.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/td.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

OK, here's the thing...

ZJ wheels are 5x4.5, WJ/WK Wheels are 5x5". Dodge Trucks are 5x5.5" (looks like)

JU = blah. No wonder I said I was gonna stop going there...

Marlon is right about the WJ. I had a WJ.

Here's a fun story. We were going to go to Mammoth Mountain for Xmas skiing a couple seasons ago. Our WJ tires were fading a quick death and we didn't feel too sure about them making it up the Sherman Grade from Bishop to Mammoth (it was snowing the wet slippery snow). I had a great idea to take the wheels off the TJ and put em on as they had brand new BFG AT's. Wouldn't fit, dammit.

Turns out we didn't get stuck, but had a great time playing dodgecar up the grade with idiots behind the wheels slipping all over the place. Even with nearly shot tires, that WJ was stable as a rock on that stuff.

Probably one of the most surefooted vehicles I've owned, other than my current sedan.
