I am from central Indiana, and somewhat new here at itsajeep.org, I joined a few months ago. I first ran across Tom’s personal web site and pelted him with questions, he was very kind, and even answered my somewhat dumb questions (newbie questions), he also directed me to itsajeep.org web site, which I am very thankful. He himself made a very good impression not only as a individual, but as to the quality and helpfulness of itsajeep.org. If that was not enough, I stopped past the gate house at TB about two weeks ago, and ran across some one that I assume was part of itsajeep.org, I was gathering information for my first 4 wheeling trip to LBL & TB (in the next week or two), they were very helpful, and spent a lot of time answering all my questions. You guys are GREAT, keep up the good work. Randy Manley

PS

Has any one ran the numbered roads, and know which ones are worth going on, which ones are not passable etc. Thanks

Hi, Randy. Thanks for your kind words.

Let us know for sure when you are coming. On almost ANY weekend, you will find some IAJ folks at Turkey Bay, and everyone is welcome to join the gang.

there are several on here that have ran the #ed roads. Someone just did it last weekend, although I don't remember who. I have ran them alot in the past but its been a few years, and I'm sure that they have changed alot since then. Just go by the welcome station and get a map (for free) and take off.The 300's and 400's are usualy the best, but I would never go by your self. always take another rig with you and some sort of recovery equipment, like a winch or com-a-long or something to that afect. the main thing is to stay safe and have fun.

Welcome to the site you will find most helpful and a few even still go to TB. Depending on where in IN you are there is some good stuff here in MO

Hello Randy! Welcome to IAJ. I think BobA knows the numbered roads pretty well. However, he is a trucker who I think is on the road at the moment. I am sure others here have explored the nubered roads as well.

The basic equipment that your Jeep should have is tow points (F&R), a working CB, and maybe a fire extinguisher. Never wheel alone, you never know when some freak thing will happen and you find yourself in trouble. Hence the need for another Jeep.

Anyway, Tom did good in directing you here. We hope to see you on the trails. BTW, in addition to LBL, there is Interlake (Lynnville, IN), and the Badlands (Attica, IN) which maybe closer to your home.

Welcome Psyco...I'm across the way from you in Trafalgar. I'm jeepless now, but have had 2 XJ's in the past.

Welcome, welcome...

In addition to the places Don mentioned, there is also Redbird SRA.

Recycled Teen knows a lot of the back roads at LBL.

Look forward to meeting you.
