Bummer, Josh. Sorry, but I don't have any experience with a soft top. Hopefully, someone will give you a good tip, but that duct tape might be the only solution.

Its not a purdee fix, but you can have a tent repair shop, or an auto upholstery sew a patch on, or possibly replace a section of the material. New material won't match old, but it would keep most of the rain out. Once the top is repaired, spray it with tent sealer and it should work okay. I have had several tops patched and repaired, never anything as large as what you are talking about, and they have done fine so far. Good luck. If you can't find a shop locally, I give you information on local Tent & Awning Company that has done repairs to my top. I wouldn't think UPS would charge much to ship it.

the only think that gets me about the rip, i had just put a brand new top on it in sept. and in nov. i put my hard top back on, so it hasn't been use about two months. oh well, sh@t happens. i told my wife i was going to duct tape the rip and she said it would look like crap, i told her that i would use camo and then she said it would look redneck, i'm still wondering why that would be a bad thing?

josh i looked into repairing the many 3 inch holes in my soft top that i got from rolling over. I went to a local auto/apulsty shop and they could have patched it , but at $45 an hour. I have water proof neo. seat covers and i have lined the tub of my jeep. i'll probly live with the holes in my top untill i can bring myself to spend more $ on roll over repairs. It stinks that now adays everthing is made to be replaced and it almost doesn't make sence to use professional people to repair simple things like rips in soft tops.

I would leave the Camo Duct tape on it. If you buy abother top just because you have a little hole then you are going to wreck that new for sure. That is my luck anyways. Like you said save you money for a top and buy some sort of performance upgrade /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif

Suzjeep, is it you or your Jeep that is topless most of the Summer. Remember, this is a "Family Channel" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hee.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hee.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hee.gif

Gumby, are you looking for a sailcloth top or just a regular one? Of course the sailcloth is more expensive but IMHO much much better. But if you have a hard top to run in winter then You can just go with the Supertop from Bestop for summer and not worry about it.

Brandon, if you are like me, there is nothing in my Jeep worth steeling. Punks go to all this trouble to get into your Jeep, just to walk away with nothing, but leave you with the mess. I don't even lock my doors,,, unless they want the factory AM/FM radio,,, no tape, no CD, just a radio, they are out of luck in my Jeep /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
