Hey, let's hear your name for your Jeep and the reason that you have named him/her that.
I named Thelma Jane before I ever laid eyes on her. I wanted a girl Jeep, and I wanted her name to have the initials "TJ." So, I named her Thelma Jane.
I was referring to her as Thelma Jane during my wait for her to come in after the order was placed. The salesman and others at the dealership liked that, and on that wonderful day when Thelma Jane arrived at the dealership, my salesman called me at work and said, "Thelma Jane" is here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I really wasn't into this deal of giving a Jeep a name. After I purchased my second Jeep, anytime the household discussion turned to Jeeps, it was a problem trying to figure out exactly which Jeep was being discussed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif You see, I had a 2000 Grand Cherokee, plus this little at the time, and very stock TJ. I have called the Grand Cherokee "The Grand" for years, but my Wife & Daughter never got into the habit of calling the Grand by this name. However, my Wife and Daughter started calling the TJ the "Little Jeep" and the name has stuck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif

As of right now we refer to the "red Jeep" and the "blue Jeep." Don't know if I'll ever officially name them.

Well, before I ever met anyone here, Mine was Thelma Jean(still on my cardomain site), but then I met Tom and his Thelma Jane. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/td.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I then named it Gumby (gmb tj), but then decided against because my Jeep is Blue, not Green.
So Im still deciding.

hmm Gumby .... Mine is green and awkward (3 point turns stink) and everyone stares at it like "What the crap are you up in these woods with a Grand Cherokee for? Everyone knows they don't wheel worth a crap."

Sorry ... no official name for mine either ... I've thought about Bertha b/c of her size but that sounds like some big ol' fat woman who is too big to get off the couch. She may not be a nibble as a TJ but she holds her own within the stuff she can do.
Mike,,,, you can say what you want, but we know that a Grand is a lot more than a Mall Crawler. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif The Grands may not be as "nimble" and physically able fit in some places that a TJ will fit, but a Grand will go more places and do more than most people give them credit for. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif
I did a fair amount of wheel-n in my Grand before I got the TJ so I can say, "been there, done that". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeh I know Don. The ZJ is under rated most of the time and I don't mind getting ribbed about it. If everyone thinks she can't do much, it makes it that much more impressive when she makes it thru something.

Rod, as a matter of fact, Patrick did tell me that it stood for GunMetalBlueTJ, but then he just called it Gumby for short. It came up because I asked him why he named it Gumby when it wasn't green...lol /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I have not given my Jeep any names but she has recived a couple over the years.
In high school in Kentucky one of my old girlfriends called my Jeep "waa waa" (insert the sound of a tired old 6cyl trying to turn over) cause that's how it sounded when I tried to start it.
Most recently it was given the name "I Lean" because my new springs took a little while to break in and on the occasion she leans to one side /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hee.gif.

My 76 Monte Carlo was the Yellow Submarine AND the banana mobile, depending on who you asked.
I named my Jeep Kermit. It is green and it can hop around like a frog. Plus I named it for my dog who died last year. So it is kinda a sentimental reason for me. He will always live on...

When I told my family that I bought a Jeep Wrangler Sahara, my daughter said "Sara, I didn't know Jeeps had girl names". (or something like that).
The name has stuck and Sara Jeep is a member of the family much to the chagrin of my wife and my check book.
After wheeling with the gang at TB last year, my 6 year old daughter was wondering when Sara was going to get airlockers and a lift!!!
My wife firmly belives I put her up to this.
I can thank Tom for being directly involved with my decision to adopt a Jeep after meeting him over on Edmunds.
Sara, has provided more smiles for the family than any other "toy" that we own and has been a huge help to my son in overcoming sensory integration issues.
I cannot thank the TB gang enough.

Congrats on the "Good for the Family" Jeep. Glad it is helping your son too. My wife keeps asking me when I am going to order my winch cause she hates worrying when I go out. LOL

I'm glad he said winch not wench...
My local off road place price matched my best price on a Warn 9.5ti so how could I pass that up? I also puchased my Warn gas tank skid and steering box skid from them for better than 4wd or Qtec pricing.
I bought the winch because I was always getting stuck(no lockers) and was tired of bumming a tow off my friends. With a winch I have now found even more friends when I wheel on muddy days.

Ol' Yeller sounds like a good name.
I started referring to the Sport as my Noble Black Steed - he's black, he's one tough vehicle (we drove away from an accident on the 405 that left the guy who's fault it was waiting for a tow truck) and I used to own horses before I started owning Jeeps. It isn't a proper name, but fit the Jeep, especially when our other vehicle was a Tacoma (named Taco because I prefer burritos so his common short name for the Tacomas was appropriate for a truck I hated).
It took me a while to come up with a good name for the Unlimited. Kermit would have been one of my choices, but Paul had already called his that. I ended up with GiGi - G.G. stands for Green Giant (she's definitely green and certainly larger than the Sport).

Just call me yellar then...
My wife calls the Willys "that god**** thing". The Willys I just call The Willys. The YJ and ZJ just don't have names. My 80 Vette is just The Money Pit that hasn't moved in 8 years.

I know what you mean Fred. My wife gets so mad at me whenever I drool over another Jeep or some Jeep accessory. Once she made a comment about how she wishes I'd drool over her the way I drool over Jeeps. I told her if she had a body like that, 6" of lift and had measurements of 35x12.50x15, I'd drool over her too. j/k /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hee.gif But seriously, I did tell her be glad it's Jeeps and not other women. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif She didn't care too much for that comment. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eyeroll.gif

My Daughter has named my Jeep. She began calling it the "sleep Jeep", because everytime her and her little brother got into it, they would take a nap. (People who went to TB with us can attest to this, my son slept through about half of it.) Then my wife made a reference to the "sand man" visting everytime they are in the jeep and before we knew it, Sandy was born. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
