On March 9, SOMEONE tinkered with the hood holddowns on my YJ without my knowledge. Needless to say, while driving the hood decieded to visit the windshield, much to my suprise. After getting out of the way of the car that was heading towards me, the damage was done. Estimate- $4897.25!!! Thank goodness for insurance. None of the local shops could get it in before the 21st, soooo my son-in-law offer the help fix it and paint. We started on monday gathering parts. Painted this weekend. Turned out GREAT!! Will post pics as soon as I get it back together. Make sure your hood is SECURELY fastened so this does not happen to you.

Wonder if you could use the insurance money to get one of those AEV hoods... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Finally got jeep back on the road. replaced ds fender, hood, windshield frame, grill, new holddowns, and repaint entire jeep. Added xenon wide flares, rinolined inside. Have some before, during and after pics I will try to post soon. My son-in-law wanted to fix and paint so I let him. Turned out GREAT!! A couple of friends have 89 Sarahas and have already talked to him about painting their jeeps. Color is Emerald Green Pearl Met. Paint code PGF. A factory color used on very few jeeps, mainly used on crys and dodge. I will let you know when I get pics posted. Maybe next road trip to Tenn or TB I can make. Really looking forward to going to TB. Spoke with Tom on px, but want to meet everyone in person. Maybe when Gill gets settled we can line up a road trip.

Mike:
Man, you guys need to work on old Gilly and get him to come back up here. Giller needs to do something FUN after all he has been through.
He wanted all of you Bama Buds to come up to TB with him, but it didn't work out at New Years.
I would love for all of you guys to get up here for some wheelin'.
