For the last 6 months or more, I've been getting the nasty sounds of the t-case smacking the skid plate on every bump and when in reverse it felt like it was going to rip it out. Well, I've got the 242 t-case and apparently this skid was meant only for the 231. Since the 231 has a lower profile the bottom of the skid was set too high for the 242, thus the cause for my problem.

Solution was to cut out the section that the t-case was hitting and drop it down enough to allow the t-case to rest where it was supposed to.

First pic shows section that I was dealing with and marks to begin cutting.

Here is after cutting and bending down the edges to give the bottom of the t-case a "pocket" to sit in.

Test fit of the plate that will fill the hole

Bottom welded up and sorta smoothed out.

Added additional cross brace to help prevent the plate from bowing.

Finally some paint.

Yes. It is made by Skid Row (http://www.skidplates.com/). I think I have successfully voided the warranty on this thing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
