Hi Guys :
I have been thinking about a lift for my wrangler x. I have been thinking about tire sizes and i think a 32" tire, not to big for my dana 35 and 30 axles and small enough to drive long distances and tow a trailer. I am on a tight buget and want to make a BB lift with attatude. I would clear those 32" tires with a 3 inch standard lift in the front and a 2 inch spacer lift in the rear. Now, with the 2 inch lift in the rear i wouldn't need to worry about drive train angles as much, posibly avoiding a tansfer case drop or new drive shaft, not spening as much $ and also not lossing ground clearence from a transfer case drop. With the 3 inch standard lift in the front i would be able to flex the front end very well. This type of lift would give the jeep a "leaned Back" look. But would it work? Would there be any problems with an uneven amount of lift? Sounds like it makes some sence for my needs but i have never heard of someone making a BB lift with difforent amounts of lifts for the front and rear. Plus how could i order two seperate lift kits with only one side of the kit?

just an idea

I have the perfect solution for you, its cheap, and I KNOW it works, have read multiple write ups on people doing this. Seems to work great.

get 2 front coils from a ZJ (Grand Cherokee) and replace your front springs with them. Then take your factory fronts and move them to the rear. Do a search on www.jeepforum.com (http://www.jeepforum.com) in the TJ forum for a full write up. Gives 3" of lift. May have to add washers for a T-case drop, and longer shocks, but the ZJ front springs can be picked up from someone on JF, or a junkyard. About and hour and a half, and the lift is on. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif

That is interesting, I may look into that myself, your other option is the bodylift route, I know most do not push a BL but you can get a 1.75 or 2" spacer BB lift, and add a 1" BL and be at near 3" should be PLENTY for 32's, just an Idea, that is actually what I plan on doing, I have a 1" BL now with .75" spacers, gonna pull the .75's and put in eithe 1.75 or 2"

You might consider air shocks for the rear, especially if you're going to tow something

wow that deal with using parts form a zj is cool, i never would have thought of that, i'll do some more reserch on that. But as far as body-lifts go, when i flipped i bent a few of my body mounts so installing one might be a pain, plus if i flip again i dont want to run a risk of my body coming of my frame form bent and worn body mounts that could be weakened by a body lift. Air shock s another good idea i didn;t think about , worth looking into. But would the uneven anount of lift create a problem?

thanks guys your info really helps.

THAT is very interesting, I think I am gonna try it, between that, the 3/4" coil spacers, and the 1" BL I would end up at around 4 1/4" total lift. Planty to allow flex on my 32's and stop body rub!!!!

well, u'd better get a transfer case drop, otherwise u will be having some BAD vibes.

well only 3 1/2 would be suspension, but yes a t-Case drop would be at hand

cool, that lift realy is something, is the bending of the coil shown on the write-up going to be a problem? Could the coil pop out?

-time for some homework talk to you'all soon
