I just got my front driveshaft from Tom Woods. It is a Double Cardan set up with the 1310 u-joints. My question is that it looks short to me. It says on my paperwork that the running length is 30.97". It is a CJ with a 4 inch lift if that helps anyone. I hate to put it on and it be too short. I was planning on going wheelin up north this weekend /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/furious.gif. How much of the "spline " should be showing when it is hooked up on flat ground. I am rambling but I don't know how to ask the question I guess /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Hi, I know how you feel! I got a rear shaft from woods, and it seemed a little short, but its been just fine.Did you put the new one up to the existing shaft? Anyway, I'd throw it in, and then take a peek. They are very helpful at Woods, and if you feel there's a problem, give them a call. Have fun

well they sent me the wrong f'in one. I don't know what they were thinking. It is like 3 inches too short and it won't even hook up to my yoke. I think it is for a truck. I don't think they will be able to get me a one by saturday morning

I will give it to them at Tom Woods. They overnighted one to ma so I was able to go wheeling. even saved 50 bucks

Well, if it had to happen to someone, at least it was you. I mean, crap, you have plenty of experience in making do with a "short shaft." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/woot.gif

On the bright side, they are good about taking care of their screw ups!
