OK, so thanks to the how-to thread, I now have two pic categories!!! YAY!!!:D
NOW, how do I go about puttin pics in em?? I understand the whole browse, select category, and name the file part, but what I am not getting (and don't recall how I got the sig pic uploaded either, or where it's stored even, lol) is how to upload pics into my albums... ..I have taken a ton of really cool pics from 2 trips to grey rock, plus build pics on various things, but the server keeps telling me they are all invalid files!! My computer know what a pic is, and when I clicky on the icon, the picture shows up. It even does flips when I tell it to, lol, it just won't go sit on the site like I (not so patiently) keep telling it to. :(

I tried uploading it from the file on my desktop, then tried uploading it from the camera's memory stick. I've tried a ridiculous amount of times, from a ridiculous number of approaches, and Dave has shown me how to do this a number of times, but they WILL NOT UPLOAD!

Please help before I decide to teach my monitor a thing or two about gravity!!!! J/K, seriously though, this is reaaaallllly gettin under my skin!!

have you tried to upload them to a picture site like www.photobucket.com if you upload them to that site and then when you go to this site you just put in the URL to the photobucket site and there you go. At Photobucket they give you a URL for the album or for the picture itself. you would be using the picture itself URL to upload it to this site.

If you need a 100% walk through let me know I would be happy to help out

What type of files are they? Are they ".jpg" files? What size are they? Maybe they are too big.

Tom

P.S.

Looks like you got yourself two albums set up just fine, like you said you did. Be sure that you are IN the album where you want the picture to go when you upload. I don't think that was the problem, but I just thought I would remind you.

You cannot upload photos to the site directly from your camera, you have to place them on hard drive of your computer and resize them (make photo smaller), then upload into your gallery.

Once you put a photo or two in your category, we will walk you thru the next step. If you need us to do so.

I have never had to re-size a photo. It does take a while to upload them sometimes though.

I'll probably need to come over and show you, yet again, but on your computer this time.

I guess that would depend on the photo size set by your camera. :)

Doing a "walk thru" is the best way to learn if someone (like you) is close enough to do so. The process isn't hard and is really easy, but you have to know the steps or it won't work.

I set my camera for max res... but I have my photobucket account max pic resolution set to 800x600 so it will resize as I upload automatically. I can use the imagexxx tags to resize smaller if necessary (like in my sig).
