All,
I’ve set October 11th as the date for our Fall clean-up Day. The past few Fall days have landed on Veterans Day so I tried to schedule this year’s workday a little sooner. I’ve also tried to mix up the day’s activities this time to break up the monotony of picking up litter.
Tasks for the day will include:
1.Final touches on the new kid’s riding/learning trail (hauling rock, building water control structures, limbing and brushing)
2.Trimming back vegetation on the main trail
3.Numbering the legal trails in TB (I have vinyl stickers to put up on the orange and blue blazes)
4.Campground and fire ring clean-up
If anyone has access or knows someone with a Ranger, Rhino, or other UTV, please pass along my invite as these vehicles will come in handy when hauling rock. Those who wish to participate should meet at the gatehouse at 9 a.m for a tailgate safety briefing. The day will conclude at 3 p.m. As always, prizes will be given out at the end of the day. I’ve even contacted the guys at TRUCKS! to see if they’d be interested in contributing. We’ll see what happens!
Feel free to contact me with any question/comments/concerns at kvarel@fs.fed.us or 270-924-2031.
Hope to see you on the 11th!
