View Full Version : Where do we come from?
Because of recent posts, I thought it would be interesting to demograph where the membership comes from. So here goes; From the north east we have 40 Jeeps, the mid atlantic -, the south, 126. Mid west,43. Southwest 25, west, 32, the northwest,13 international 7. Sadly there are 126 members that did not mention where they are from on their profile. I guess those folks are very private people, although a few do post, and go into chat once in a while. Is there anything we can do to wake up some of these folks? The site actually reaches all but a few states. Anyway lets think about it. Take care

Man, we do cover the whole country, don't we? I'm with you, Matt, wishing more people would get active in here with posting and stuff. Maybe then it wouldn't look so much like we were a "Turkey Bay" website.
I would like to see pics and hear tales of the wheelin' that other folks do. What about you and Forist? Why not write up some descriptions of your favorite trails?
Tom
To be honest, I'm not very good with the camera, maybe this season will be different

Matt, You gotta get a hobby. How much time did you spend doing that?

OK, so Matt's work shows that we are spread over the whole country, but very THINLY spread in some places.
Why do you suppose we have so many members from southern IN, western KY, and western TN? Maybe it's because the old Tomster has actively promoted this site. Maybe it's because I wheel almost EVERY weekend and am constantly meeting Jeepers and telling them about this place. Heck, the people I have invited had invited people, who have invited people, who have invited people, etc, etc.
Can't help it. I LOVE JEEPS! I LOVE THIS SITE! You have heard of Johnny Appleseed? I guess I am Tommy Jeepseed.
What prevents some of you from other areas from promoting the site and bringing in new members? I would love to see that. I said earlier in this thread that I would love to see trail pictures from different parts of the country. I would love to read some stories about wheelin' in different places.
Get busy!
Good Old Gilly used to express to me all the time his disappointment that the site was not growing very fast. Gill never intended to make a dime off of the site, and quite the opposite, he spent lots of his hard earned money to establish and maintain this site, with no plans to ever get any of his money back. All he wanted was to see people using and enjoying this place. He wanted it to grow.
I have tried to do my best to make the site grow in membership. I do not apologize for that.

Well you shouldn't have to apologize for that, because that is what Gill wants for his site.
And you are right about the people inviting peolple to itsajeep, I was lucky enough to come across this site. I have invited quite a few people, and I'm happy I did.
It took about half an hour, and its part of the hobby. Besides that, I've been out of work, and it took my mind off things for a while
