I have a friend that has one and he says it sucks gas big time. He is comparing mileage with some of his friends with toys, chevys, fords, and dodges. He even took his oversized tires off and put the factory ones back on to help with mileage. Its not first hand experience but I believe to be reliable.

That is what I thought too Tony but I just looked it up and it appears Nissan is discontinuing the Titan and Chrysler is going to start making Nissans full size truck in Mexico.

Go with a Silverado or F150. Aftermarket support for these platforms is HUGE! With their newer engines and the valve deactivation, highway mileage isn't all that bad.

Is he going to haul things that are heavy? the 2500's or F250's may be worth looking at.

What about an Avalanche? I hear they're nice! ;)

Its a Truck...not an international crisis or a long term investment for retirement.

Terry, from everything I have seen and heard, it is a good sound truck made by a good company. BeeBe would be the one to ask as he has one.

I drove one for a while and while I didn't have any specific complaints, it was just a truck, not bad and not great just ok.

Now my Duramax on the otherhand, I love the power, interior comfort, ride quality and I enjoy driving it. It just makes me feel good regardless of what diesel costs.

One of my friends had one and really liked it. I don't know about his gas milage or anything but he drove the **** out of it and it held up. He would still have it but someone T-boned him one afternoon and totaled it.

I don't know a whole lot about the titan, I know a few people that own them with no complaints. I do believe however that they have 4 wheel independent suspension systems which get rather costly to lift. I personally own a Honda Ridgeline, it gets excellent gas milage, it will tow anything I have hooked up to it, and cargo space awesome.

Beebe is in the building! I have a '06 Titan and Love it. I have owned a ford Lariat, Chevy Z71 and a Dodge Ram. You cant beat the Titan for Ride, Comfort, or room. It is the biggest cab in a half ton truck made. As far as performance, I will put it up against ANY full size truck made. The ONLY down fall I have with the TITAN is fuel economy. BUT, I purchased a "Bully Dog" Performance upgrade and have solved that problem. I now get 16.9 MPG and will outrun any Half ton truck on the road and most cars!

I tow my 16 ft trailer with my Tj on it loaded for the weekend and you cant tell its back there. Mine is a 4 door cab vehicle. It'll haul @** down the road. Most of my friends complain they cant keep up with me pulling their rigs.

Buy American keep america working and in business!!!!!!!!!!!!

Old train of thought.... If the 1st digit of VIN doesn't say it was built in USA, it is not American built. I owned two Ford products. Neither were built in the USA. Even if it says it is USA assembled, that is actually all it is, assembled in the USA. All the $$ components came from outside USA.

At one time, the Honda Accord had the most USA labor and parts. Now is the Honda as USA car or is a Ford built in Mexico a USA car? Which vehicle keeps America working?

Oh man, here we go again...

Let's stick to giving the OP some good advice and not start the debate of what constitutes American made. You can ask 10 people what that means and you could get 10 answers.

The "nice-uns" (nissians) have always been a good tough product. We have had several maximas in our family and tons of miles on them I have never owned their truck, but several freinds have. Truck seem to be tough as nails. I had a buddy put over 350, 000 miles on the old style hard body truck. His trick: never changed the oil!!!!

Your delima: BF Evans does not sell them:(

Really? Any full size? Let's have a tow off. Your Titan against Andy's Powerjoke.;)

I think it's all personal preference for which one you like. If you don't like it, it's harder to make the payments. My wife wants a car that I don't really like, but I won't be driving it so that's probably what we'll end up with.

John
08-28-2008, 10:18 AM
I think if that's what he wants he'll take better care of it and enjoy it more than anything else. I'm not partial to any auto-maker and my family actually has one of each US brand trucks currently. Having driven all of them it's pretty much a wash.

Get tha horns they're as good a truck as any.

I agree that the dodge is the best looking truck on the road. I don't think they are the best but still a good truck. I think they have a lifetime powertrain warranty now and Audubon Chrysler has all 4 door gas burners 50% off sticker price. I want one, too.
