No mods planned due to warranty but in a few years it will get a 2 in BB and MTs on it. Air box mod and new exhaust.

Have any of you encountered the recall issue on the 4.7's?

Oh, stalling at inopportune times! There are 3 Recalls on 4.7 06 XK's. 1 is seatbelt related, the other 2 are engine/abs. Jeep.com lets you put in the last 6 digits on your VIN to look for unfulfilled recalls. Not to be confused with TSB's.

i've had the leaking transmission O ring, a passenger side mirror replaced (the glass shook at hwy speed), and the rear washer nozzle was broken when i bought it (new). that part is integrated into the high mount stop light lens, so they replaced the whole assy.

not bad for almost 2 years and 22k miles. one common problem, and a couple piddly things.

Sweet rig! We almost got one, but the 05 GC limited was a good deal. I wouldn't mind having one someday though.

I love it. It's huge; plenty of room for hauling my gear around.

They aren't that big! My oldest son is 6'0 and he doesn't fit in the back seat. Hopefully, Jeep will get the act together and ditch the Commander, Liberty, and the Patriot to just concentrate on the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and a new J-10.

I wish Toyota would buy Jeep...

Bumping an old thread here. The wife and I drove a commander last night. She wasnt in love with it but is interested somewhat. Any input now that they have been out for awhile and you have owned one. Would you recomend one to a friend? Is the MPG really 14/19? Does the 3.7 have enough power? I noticed the one we drove had the window sticker in it and it had the tow package but the reese hitch was the itty bitty reciever. Thanks.

I highly advise against the 3.7 Earlier this year, I poured over all the aspects of this rig and 3.7 is a showstopper. Trust me on this one. Still loving our 05 WK though.

What is it about the 3.7 thats so bad. This would be my wifes daily driver and sometimes she might let me drive so power isnt really an issue. I would like to think that I will have a trailer for the Jeep someday but by then I will have a different vehicle for me too.
