What does everyone think of the Burnt Orange? I don't like it, think I will stick with my Yellow. Papabear /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hee.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif

I saw one on the lot not long ago, not bad, however, i would choose red before orange.........

I still haven't seen it yet (but I haven't been looking very closely). Looking at the swatch on the website, I think I would like it - I liked the Inca Fire (is that what it was called?) when it was out. However, orange is a strange color - some shades look good, others are horrible!

And besides, I thought my bright green was terrible when I saw the swatch. When I saw it at Camp Jeep I liked it and I'm still happy I got it. I never have to worry about losing my car in a parking lot!

On one of the production news sites I think I read that Solar Yellow was going back into production in May. I couldn't find the link just now to confirm.

Anyway, papabear, I agree that yellow is a great color. As it's not available now, however, I'm looking at good old red. I guess we all lean toward the bright colors. Good for finding the Jeep again after taking a little hike off the road!

Well i wouldnt say everyone leans towards bright colors. I do like the bright colors on wranglers, however, i like dark colors on my vehicles. My GC is black and my wrangler is Beryl Green which is a very dark green. The dark green and dark kahkie top was the combination i liked the most...

Sorry, Jeff, I guess I generalized too quickly. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Actually I really like the dark green with khaki top--how jeepy can you get?

I found the reference I mentioned above. According to http://www.arifleet.com/production.html, Solar Yellow job #1 is 5/2/05.

On another line it says TJJS*** Rubicon is on hold. I don't know what that means. I presume it some special edition model.

Back by Popular Demand, huh??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

TJJS**... that just MEANS THAT ALL RUBICONS ARE ON HOLD!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/furious.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Marlon, your interpretation scared me because I'm shopping for a Rubicon. I looked up the model numbers, though, and you are right. The SWB Rubicon is the TJJS77 and the Unlimited is the TJJS78. So this line means they are both on hold with the restart date TBD!

The web site information was last updated Feb 11. Let's hope the situation could has changed already, but I don't know how to find out except wait for the next update. I don't think the dealers even know this stuff.

In an indirect way it could be good news. Maybe some problem has been discovered that will be fixed when production restarts. But I'm not sure I can wait that long. I may have to skip the Rubicon package on my TJ.

Could just mean that they have enough in the pipeline already and sales are slow.

They shut down the whole plant for a week after my order went in for Thelma Jane for that reason. I still got Thelma Jane in three weeks and two days after the order went in.

Marlon, you're right about being right. (I love your new avatar, by the way.)

Tom, I only hope you're right.

I went to a local jeep dealer with a friend last friday driving my Rubicon Unlimited. We were looking for some door pins for his new half doors. We came back out of the parts department and several people all employees of the dealership standing around my jeep. They asked me where did i get the Unl.Rub. and i told em Indiana. The laughed and said no wonder ya have one that none are available in the DFW area. Also said that they did not know when they would be recieving any and was guestimating in a few months. One guy said i should try to sell it for a premium as even placing an order for one can be done but the delievery date can not be confirmed....Well im not selling, i like being the only Unlimited Rubi on the road in the DFW area. However, if the price is right well hmmm just maybe, LOL....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif

If you want the rubi package then wait for the rubi package. I waited a very long time (years) to find the one i wanted with the colors I like, Tom knows. LOL......The unlimited with the rubi package is perfect for my family and was worth the wait.........

I agree with Jeff... if you ordered the Rubi package... stick with it. If you change your order, you will never be happy.... been there, done that before /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Besides think of the $$$$ you will save by not trying to build a TJ into a Rubi at a later date. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I want that yellow Rubi unlimited something fierce!! Don't know if I could beat it up the way I've beat up the TJ, though. I'd probably baby it.....for a week or so!! haha

Ive really enjoyed my unlimited. The wife likes also, her only complaint is about getting our son in his carseat. I know if there were a 4 door wrangler we would own it right now. Jeep did a terrific job of insulation on the unlimited, i can hardly hear the engine noise at all and road noise is minimal. I like the green i purchased as its my favorite color, however, i woulda liked white but could only find one with a grey top and finder flares....im glad the stopped that production.....yellow or red woulda been my 3 choice in colors....but hey they all look good....

Or, what the heck, drive out to California and go wheeling with me! It's going to a fun season up here at 6000 feet, but we have a bit of snow to melt off first.

A BIT of snow!?! Looked like a whole bunch to me at Bear Valley this weekend. They're talking about cross-country skiing through mid-April, so I would guess 'wheeling in the high country is going to wait until June or???

Tom, if you decide to come out here for some 'wheeling - I'd love to go with you. There are some really good trails out here (including many my stock Unlimited will never see, but Thelma Jane might enjoy). Isn't it about time to take a long vacation and explore some new territory?

Jeff, I hope you or anyone else at Itsajeep would let us Californians know if you ever get the bug to come. We'll do whatever we can for you and you're sure to have a great time.

Just wish I could make that work - you are SO lucky to be able to move that way. I guess I'm stuck in California until I retire...

HEY papabear to reply to your orginal question I LOVE THE IMPACT ORANGE , guess cuz thats what i am driving now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
I had all my color choices picked out and no that was not even a concideration .but once i saw it i picked it , or it picked me .Personaly i thought it was going to look like a traffic cone on wheels .My last jeep was a 1971 commando "jeepster" and it just so happen to be hugger orange .wierd hu .My unlimited rubi is now lifted 3.5" and rolls on 33's goodyear muds .I do not know if all the people that see it and talk to me about the jeep are being nice but outta the 50 or so people only 1 said he did not like the color .And it looks nothing like the swatch in the brochure . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif

Don't think I have ever seen a Jeep in that color live and in person. Would you mind driving over here to western KY, so I can check it out? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Impact Orange is a good color. Yellow is number 1 still in my book, but that Impact Orange is a close second.

well on the subject of "impact orange" it is a 05 only color .And you pay extra for it .so if ya hate it no worries its not going to be around long .If ya love it better hurry n get yer order in . Color was the last thing on my mind when we finally went in for the unlimited rubi , guess aslong as it was not PINK i was cool w/ it .
