I am torn between three GPS's...

Here are the ways I want to use the GPS:

Turn by Turn Navigation for getting to trails
Mapping Trails with "cookies"
Marking trail heads, hunting spots, etc...
downloading "cookies" into computer for use in Google earth or similar maping software

GPS choices:

1.) Garmin GPSMap 60csx (and purchase a 2Gig SD card with CityStreets for navigation)

2.) Garmin Colorado 400t (Advantage of topographical maps with shadow relief)

3.) Garmin Oregon 400t (Only differance I can see is touchscreen)

I like the 60csx for the price and the proven reliability

I like the Colorado for the nice topo maps

I like the Oregon for the touchscreen for entering waypoints, and basic menu navigation

Does anyone have any inputs of a good "trail" GPS that can also be used for road navigation??

Thank you for your inputs.

No help here... I use a Garmin Etrex Vista C with topo map for off pavement and a $99.00 Tom Tom for on pavement navigation.

There might be a good one out there for both, but not a "great" one. I also use a Garmin Etrex but mine is a Legend C. The reason I chose it was the length of battery life when it is off the cord. Also two AA batteries are not too heavy to carry when on a bicycle. I use it always while in the jeep but in my personal car I use a Garmin Widescreen Nuvi with voice text prompts. Some only have voice prompts that just tells you to "turn left at the next intersection", not "turn left at Bellmeade Ave".

One thing I use with my Legend C is a download for your laptop so you can turn your small garmin into a receiver which uses the laptop screen and voice prompts from the laptop for navigation. That is very helpful while I am in my company vehicle of if you drive alot as I do and use the laptop also. No guys, I don't use the laptop while driving! Well not much:D anyway!
