God, I hate clogging up space with this, and I went back several pages before I decided to post, but I the size tire Im looking at, I think, is relatively new. I dont see anyone talking about it.
I have a stock tj. Im getting ready to purchase new wheels with 4.0 back spacing. I was wondering if I could get a BFG M/T 32X11.50. I will probably be going to a two inch spacer lift imediatly. Just kinda wondering how it would work out. Also kinda curious what size rim I would need for the x11.50. If I could do a 15x8, or if I will need a 15x10.
I dont plan on jacking this jeep up a whole lot. Probably 3 inchs max, and will likely never buy a tire bigger than 33. would just like a little bit larger tread pattern while Im toughing it out.
you can fit a 33x12.5 on an 15x8 wheel, no prob. there, i know this is kinda off the subject, if anybody looks at my gallory, i'm wanting to sell the wheels and tires off my jeep, the wheels are 15x8 and tires are 30x9.5, just curious

An 8" wheel will handle an 11.50" tire no problem.
The backspacing of 4" will give you the clearance you need on the inside to keep your tires from rubbing on the rear spring perches and on the lower control arms up front.
That's the good news. The bad news is that when you fully stuff a tire, the tire will no longer stuff inside the flare, assuming you disconnect the sway bar for wheelin'. The tire will get into the flare instead of stuffing inside it. I have this problem with a 2" lift and running only 31 x 10.50 tires. I just don't worry about it. My flares are distorted from tire rub, but I don't lose any sleep over it.
Guess I could get even longer bump stop extensions, but that would limit my flex too much. I already put some bumpstop extentions on, but I would need longer ones, if I wanted to elminate all rubbing.

You wouldn't have to get longer ones Tom. You could buy some .99 hockey pucks and glue or bolt them to the lower spring perch.
Several of us have done that with great success. One puck would give you an additional 1" of bumpstop.

Josh:
Take a few photos of your wheels and tires and post them in the for sale gallery. I did and I found a buyer for my 30 inch Dunlop Mud Rovers. It was a good deal for me and I think the buyer will tell you it was a good deal for him. Not the fastest process of selling tires & wheels, but it worked. A couple months ago, I received an e-mail from a guy who was interested in my tires, but could not purchase them before March or April. I'll forward his contact information, if I can locate it.

Wraith: After talking with several Jeepers, I decided that the 15 x 8 wheel (not the 15 x 10) is the preferred wheel for me. I would recommend that you consider only the 15 x 8 wheel. I am running 33 x 12:50 Mud Rovers on a 15 x 8 wheel without any problems. If your Jeep is a daily driver like mine is, 33's with a 3.5 inch lift is at the max height IMHO. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/brows.gif

yeah, my jeep is a daily driver, hence the not wanting to beast it out too much. I currently have 31x10.50 tires on 4 back spacing. I get some flare distortion as it is. I dont mind. I was just concerned about rubbing normally. I dont have disconnects currently, so my rubbing is rather minimal. The thing I hate most about sticking out past the flares is trying to keep the **** thing clean. I get muddy and dirty awfully easy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/animxj.gif
Thanks for the help.
I hear you on getting dirty. Just driving around town seems to throw everything on the sides of my Jeep now that I have the 12:50's on it. I guess sooner or later, I'll add bushwacker flares..... I really hate to add them then just knock them off on the trails /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Along this same line of questioning. I went and talked to the local guys about ordering my tires and wheels, and it was WAY more expensive. Im just wondering, what all goes into mounting tires on wheels, and such, since I am probably going to order them direct from Tire Rack and Quadratec? Anyone know how I can get them mounted and set, and what all I need to do?

I ordered tires from tirerack and took them to Walley world to get mounted and balanced. Beware though that some places will not touch a tire that is larger than stock so it may take some searching.
I used tirerack.com's Web site to locate an installer that was very reasonable. Then I had all 5 tires dropped shipped directly to the installer. This made life pretty simple /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Except my Jeep was sitting in my garage with no tires or wheels (I sold them), so once the tires were mounted on my new wheels, I had to haul all of them home on my trailer. The whole deal was pretty quick and easy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tu.gif

this is my post from another board. it may help you with some visuals on the backspacing and coverage.
sahara flares just not quite wide enough for alabama and georgia mud. the new flares cover ALMOST all of the tire. maybe 1/2" left outside flare.
dont let anyone fool you, these things were a ***** to put on. the bushwackers went on fine, it was taking off the originals that was a pita. by the way, what is the hole with the tape over it in the body under the very front, lower part of the rear flares?????
everywhere else these were between 410 and 475 shipped. i got mine from ebay for 339.00 shipped. love that ebay.
this is as clean as it gets. just washed for the first time all winter

just a little less clearance with the bushwackers but i had some clearance to spare.

as you can see the tires are almost entirely covered. these are MT/R 33/12.50s on ARE Stics-5 wheels with 3.75 bs
